There Is Hope

A young woman; we will call her (A.W.) from the Martinsville area, was facing eviction as she owed over $2,000. She had been out of work due to a high-risk pregnancy, along with having a special needs child. While in the program, provided by the Danville Redevelopment Housing Authority, which is a West Piedmont Better Housing Coalition member, she was able to catch up on rent and utilities. And, while under case management, she was able to secure successful employment from home. As her income increased, she successfully graduated from the DRHA program and A.W. and is now self-sufficient and is able to take care of her children and pay her own bills. A.W. is just an example of what community coming together can accomplish.
